Carnival, Creatures, and the Dance of Bureaucracy
Hey everyone! This week has been intense, and I wanted to take a moment to talk about something that always inspires me: popular culture. Carnival just happened, and no matter where you are, you can feel the energy of the celebration. The creativity in costumes, the music, the way everything turns into art… It always reminds me how culture shapes imagination—and, of course, the games we create.
Speaking of Carnival, I was totally there, right in the middle of the crowd!
Trust me.
Commissions & The Mysterious NDA:
This week, I worked on some external commissions. Unfortunately, they are locked behind a VERY SERIOUS NDA, so I can’t share anything… Just imagine me working on something super cool, and we’ll pretend that’s what I posted here.
Tileset: The Bureaucratic Nightmare:
I also did a ton of behind-the-scenes work on my tileset. The kind of work that makes spreadsheets cry. Organizing assets, structuring files, making sure everything is neat and tidy… You know, the thrilling part of game development.
The true roguelike experience is navigating a well-organized folder structure.
Tileset Creatures: Taking Requests! Finally, I’ve started working on creatures! I’m adding more life to the tileset, and I’d love to hear your thoughts! If you have any specific creatures you’d love to see, drop your suggestions. High fantasy, mythical, weird, or even Carnival-inspired—let’s make it happen!
Something Playable Soon! Next week, I plan to have something tactile for you all to test—a small example to showcase how the tileset looks in action! It’s still early, but I want to get some hands-on feedback as soon as possible. Stay tuned!
That’s all for this week! Thanks for the support, and see you next time!
